At 12:53 p.m. local time (08:53 GMT) on June 30, a magnitude 3.9 earthquake was recorded near the Iran-Turkey border zone, according to Armenia’s Seismic Protection Service under the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The epicenter was located approximately 28 kilometers north of the city of Maku, with a depth of 10 kilometers.
The intensity of the underground tremor reached 5 on the MSK-64 scale in the epicentral area.
The earthquake was felt in several regions of Armenia. The tremors were felt in Ararat and Vayots Dzor Provinces and capital Yerevan.
