Killing Iran's supreme leader would 'end the conflict', Netanyahu

Reuters. Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has said that he believes killing Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei would “end the conflict” between Israel and Iran, rather than escalate it.

Netanyahu made the comments in an interview with ABC News.

U.S. officials told Reuters that U.S. President Donald Trump had vetoed an Israeli plan in recent days to kill Khamenei.

Israel launched a surprise attack on Friday (June 13) morning that wiped out the top echelon of Iran's military command and damaged its nuclear sites, and says the campaign will escalate in coming days.

Iran has launched missile barrages on Israel in retaliation in what has emerged as the biggest-ever confrontation between old enemies.
