The streets of Peru and Cuba were decked in red on Friday (February 9) as people of Chinese descent and locals held celebrations to welcome the Lunar New Year of the dragon.
Spectators in Lima watched performers in lion and dragon costumes dancing while in Havana, groups put on performances showcasing various Chinese martial arts.
For Chinese-Cuban Maria del Carmen Lee, the Lunar New Year is an important holiday that must not be forgotten.
The Lunar New Year, China's biggest holiday, begins on February 10.
