The Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia Ms. Anahit Manasyan issued a congratulatory message on the occasion of the Yezidi New Year.
"Dear representatives of the Yezidi community in Armenia,
I warmly congratulate you on the on Malake Taus, the Yezidi New Year.
May this holiday that symbolizes spring, bring peace, health and happiness to the Yezidis living in Armenia.
I constantly emphasize that the protection of the rights of national minorities is one of the key priorities of my work, and in this context, I attach importance to guaranteeing the rights of people belonging to national minorities to preserve their national and ethnic identity as well as the traditions, religion, language and culture.
As the Human Rights Defender, I consider it a priority to unite all of our efforts in ensuring and effectively protecting the rights of national minorities in Armenia."
