A Russian drone attack injured five people in the Black Sea port city of Odesa late on Sunday (April 13) and damaged a medical facility, Ukrainian regional officials said, Reuters reports.
Video released on Monday (April 14) by Odesa mayor Hennadii Trukhanov showed damaged buildings with windows blown out and debris littering the ground, with at least one fire burning.
Reuters was partially able to verify the location from road layout, streetlights, buildings, and trees seen in the video which matched file and satellite imagery of the area. Reuters was not able to independently verify the date when the video was filmed. However, Odesa Governor Oleh Kiper confirmed on the Telegram app that Odesa was attacked on Sunday.
Russia denies targeting civilians but thousands have been killed and injured since it began its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
