Russia and Azerbaijan are seeking compromise on Russia House in Baku, everyone is constructive and optimistic. This was stated by the head of Rossotrudnichestvo Yevgeny Primakov, RIA Novosti reports.
“Both the Azerbaijani side and we are constructive and quite optimistic that we will still find a compromise option, and large-scale work will be resumed,” he said.
On February 3, Azerbaijan sent a note to Russia about the suspension of the Russia House in Baku. Azerbaijani media wrote that the Russian information and cultural center, under the pretext of promoting Russian culture, allegedly engaged in espionage.
The demand to close the center came against the backdrop of deteriorating relations between Baku and Moscow over the crash of an Azerbaijani plane in Kazakhstan.
Earlier, the Kremlin expressed regret over the closure of the Russia House in Azerbaijan.
