Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna, commenting on Budapest’s position on anti-Russian sanctions, called for the suspension of Hungary’s voting rights in the EU Council due to coordinated actions against Europe’s common interests.
The official stressed that there are no grounds for lifting or weakening sanctions against Russia, since Moscow has not given up its goal of occupying Ukraine and changing the European security architecture.
“Hungary is working systematically against Europe’s common security interests, so we must quickly take concrete steps and move forward with the Article 7 procedure, i.e. the suspension of Hungary’s voting rights,” Tsahkna added.
