Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Friday (March 28) that a new draft minerals deal proposed by the United States is "entirely different" from an earlier framework and would require further assessment by lawyers, Reuters reports.
Speaking to reporters in Kyiv, Zelenskiy added that Ukraine would not accept a deal that threatens its integration with the European Union.
Ukraine's President said that Ukraine would not recognise previously approved U.S. military aid as loans that need repaying, as he confirmed that Kyiv had received a new draft minerals deal from the United States.
Zelenskiy also said that Ukraine would be ready to engage in talks with any representative from the Russian side apart from President Vladimir Putin.
