Armenia and the UAE are considering the prospects of cooperation in the field of tourism, particularly medical and ski tourism.
Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan and UAE Ambassador to Armenia Nariman Al-Mulla discussed this issue on Friday.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister Narek Hovakimyan and Head of the Tourism Committee Lusine Gevorgyan.
Papoyan praised the close cooperation between Armenia and the UAE in the economic sector, especially in recent years, the ministry's press service reported.
"Currently, the UAE tops the list of Armenia's largest partner countries in terms of exports and imports, which testifies to trust and cooperation. At the same time, there is still a great untapped potential, and I am confident that by utilizing it we will achieve even greater results," Papoyan noted.
Possibilities of expanding cooperation in the field of economy, as well as strengthening business ties through meetings in different formats were also discussed.
The Minister emphasized that Armenia is interested in attracting foreign investments in the hotel sector both in Yerevan and in different regions of the country, which can significantly contribute to the development of tourism.
