NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte gave a guest lecture entitled "Stronger NATO, Commitment to Euro-Atlantic Security" at the Warsaw School of Economics.
During his speech Secretary Rutte warned the United States and Europe against any temptation to "go it alone" on security, amid increased tensions over the future of the transatlantic alliance. He also announced a new chapter for the alliance, where we build a stronger, fairer and more lethal NATO, in which all allies doing their fair share.
Earlier he met with Polish PM Donald Tusk and President Andrzej Duda to discuss progress of the ceasefire peace negotiations in Ukraine and the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague.
