There is a text, and that text is ready for signing. We propose to the Azerbaijani side to start consultations on the place and terms of its signing. This was stated by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Ruben Rubinyan during a briefing with journalists, referring to the document agreed upon between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Rubinyan recalled that negotiations have been going on for many months and years to agree on the text of the peace treaty, and in the end the parties have reached a certain point.
Answering to the question of why the Armenian side is informed about the agreement from the Azerbaijani side, Rubinyan clarified: “When the text was agreed upon, Armenia's Foreign Ministry suggested to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry to make a joint statement on the agreed text, but the Azerbaijani side preferred to make a unilateral statement.”
Armenia's Foreign Ministry announced that the peace agreement was ready for signing. The Republic of Armenia is ready to begin consultations with the Republic of Azerbaijan on the dates and venue for signing the agreement.
