"We have not yet responded to the US president’s letter, but the response is in the preparation stage and will be presented accordingly," Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said during a joint press conference with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, addressing the negotiations on the nuclear program.
"Our position on negotiations with the US is clear: under maximum pressure, amid military threats, and with the increase of economic sanctions, we will not hold direct talks with the United States. Iran has always been ready to negotiate to ensure transparency regarding its peaceful nuclear program.
Even now, we are engaged in negotiations with three European countries and other interested parties regarding the nuclear program. We have never left the negotiating table and will not leave it," the Iranian foreign minister stated.
It should be reminded that US President Donald Trump had announced that he had sent a letter to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei regarding a deal with Tehran on Iran’s nuclear program.
