Iran supports the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and we hope that a final decision on signing this agreement will soon be made by both countries. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi made this statement during a joint press conference with Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
"We believe that the agreement is crucial for peace and stability in the Caucasus, as well as for the development of economic relations. We hope that the existing issues will soon be resolved and that the agreement will be signed in the near future," he stated.
Addressing the possibility of new escalation in the South Caucasus, the Iranian Foreign Minister said: "The risk of escalation exists in the region, and we hope that alongside the signing of the peace agreement, these risks will be minimized, leading to greater stability in the region, which serves the interests of all parties."
