"I am pleased to welcome the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, my dear friend and colleague, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, to Yerevan today. Taking this opportunity, let me first congratulate my counterpart and the friendly people of Iran on the occasion of Nowruz", said Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan during a press conference with his Iranian counterpart.
The minister recalled that this was not his first meeting with his Iranian colleague.
"We have met and cooperated on international platforms, and this is Mr. Araghchi’s first visit to Armenia as Foreign Minister," Mirzoyan noted, expressing his gratitude for accepting the invitation.
The minister stated with satisfaction that Armenia’s relations with friendly Iran continue to develop steadily, which is one of the priorities of the Armenian government’s regional policy.
Mirzoyan highlighted that effective contacts and reciprocal visits take place not only between the foreign ministries but also among all sectoral agencies.
"The rich agenda of relations with Iran covers almost all spheres of life, including politics, economy, transportation, energy, science, and education.
I must emphasize that we have made progress in all these areas, and I am confident that the deepening of bilateral cooperation will remain a continuous process", Mirzoyan concluded.
