During discussions with Minister Abbas Araghchi, we emphasized the importance of economic cooperation between our two countries, which has achieved tangible success, particularly in recent years, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said during a joint press conference with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
According to Mirzoyan, Armenia’s bilateral trade volume with Iran in 2024 has surpassed the figures of at least the past five years, marking a significant achievement.
"Today, we continued our discussions on the possibility of increasing bilateral trade to $3 billion. In this context, it should be noted that the existing potential for trade expansion has been further strengthened by the signing of the Free Trade Agreement between the EAEU and Iran".
He also highlighted Iran’s involvement in Armenia’s economic and infrastructure projects, which hold not only economic but also strategic importance.
"The 32-kilometer section of the Kajaran-Agarak road, entrusted by the Armenian side to an Iranian company, is a key component of the Crossroads of Peace project.
Thus, we can state that Iran was not only among the first countries to welcome our ‘Crossroads of Peace’ initiative, but it is also actively involved in making it a reality", Mirzoyan stated.
