Immediately after announcing that the text of the Peace Treaty had been agreed upon, official Yerevan proposed starting consultations to determine the location, time, and other details of the signing. However, at this moment, we have not heard the same readiness from official Baku, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated during a joint press conference with Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
"Alongside and after finalizing the text of the Peace Treaty, Azerbaijan is still introducing certain new preconditions. We must continue working, negotiating, and finding mutually acceptable, dignified, and lasting solutions for peace-there is simply no alternative", Mirzoyan emphasized.
Regarding the timeline for signing, the minister stated: "At this moment, there is no agreement on when and where the treaty should be signed. We want to once again reaffirm that we are ready to engage in this process as soon as possible and put our signature on the document".
Armenia’s Foreign Ministry had previously announced that the Peace Treaty is ready for signing, and that the country is prepared to begin consultations with Azerbaijan regarding the date and location of the signing.
