In the past, when we had a step forward, there were always complications, provocations from the other side, sometimes two steps back are observed, in other words, this is not a new style of work. Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan said this during a parliamentary briefing, referring to the observation that, despite the agreed document, Baku continues to speak in the language of preconditions, and how Armenia imagines the continuation of the process in this case.
The Deputy Foreign Minister also spoke about the reactions, the fact that 58 countries, 10 international organizations have already welcomed the process, many have noted the important role of Armenia in this issue.
“We also stated that we are ready to discuss all processes related to the signing. There is no response to that statement yet,” he said.
To the observation that Azerbaijan’s actions and statements have become more aggressive recently, the Deputy Foreign Minister replied: "This is not a new style of working. Both last year and the year before last, there were numerous such statements that Armenia was violating the ceasefire, was taking some actions.
Now, of course, we have a very important tool, the observers, who responded both in this case and in the past, and the international community realizes that false statements do not contribute to any positive process."
Armenia's Foreign Ministry had announced that the peace agreement was ready for signing. The Republic of Armenia is ready to begin consultations with the Republic of Azerbaijan on the terms and place of signing the agreement.
