After the match between the Armenian and Georgian national teams in Tbilisi yesterday, Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze addressed the behavior of the fans.
“Of course, what happened was unpleasant, but this is football, and such incidents happen in football - fans confront each other. However, this does not mean that we have any tense relations with our Armenian friends. It was a bad incident, but, of course, it does not and cannot affect the relations with our friends, sisters and brothers,” he said.
By the way, this is not the first case of such behavior by Georgian fans. Last year, after the match with Albania, the Georgian Football Federation was fined tens of thousands of euros for such actions, and fans were also partially restricted from entering the next home match.
