If there were no trust issues, the peace agreement would have been signed long ago or there would be no need for a peace agreement. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said this during an interview with Public Television, addressing the question of whether a new escalation is possible.
“Our understanding is that the peace agenda must be pushed forward and implemented, which means facing all the difficulties and trying to solve and address these difficulties,” the Prime Minister said, noting that in essence, we have a document that is acceptable to both Armenia and Azerbaijan.
According to the Prime Minister, the escalation in our region has no basis, noting that the purpose of the flow of news about the escalation is to cover up the real news.
“And the real news is that the text of the peace agreement has been agreed and is waiting to be signed,” the Prime Minister said.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense has been spreading disinformation about alleged shooting by Armenia for the 6th day.
The staff of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia has proposed to create a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism for investigating cases of ceasefire violations and/or information about them, to which Azerbaijan has not responded to date.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia reaffirms that, in accordance with the position of Armenia's Prime Minister's staff, it is ready to investigate the facts substantiating the message of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, provided that they are transferred to Armenia.
At the moment, the Republic of Azerbaijan has not transferred to the Republic of Armenia any factual data or justification for the violation of the ceasefire by Armenia's Armed Forces units.
