The fact that the public is concerned about the statements of the Azerbaijani side about the shooting on the border also concerns me and all of us, High-Tech Minister of Armenia Mkhitar Hayrapetyan told reporters.
“Why? Because we expect to continue our dialogue in a constructive atmosphere and achieve our ultimate goal, namely, to build lasting peace in this region, and I believe that there are sufficient grounds for this in the sense that both sides have actually announced that the work related to the draft peace treaty is already completed. In this sense, I must say that Armenia will consistently advance this work, will do everything in its power to ensure that the situation continues to remain stable.
There is a clear perception among the international community that Armenia is positioned very constructively in this context as well. The Armenian side, in response to the question that there is such a concern, I think that both the Prime Minister’s Office and the Prime Minister himself are making statements almost daily, which are aimed at truly revealing how reliable the given information is.
The Armenian side expresses its clear will and readiness, and the international community clearly records this. I think the public has no reason to worry. The maximum is being done at the level of the Foreign Ministry and relevant state institutions,” he noted.
The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense has been spreading disinformation about alleged shots by the Republic of Armenia for the 6th day now.
The staff of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia has proposed creating a joint Armenia-Azerbaijan mechanism for investigating cases of ceasefire violations and/or information about them, to which Azerbaijan has not responded to this day.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia reaffirms that, in accordance with the position of the Prime Minister’s Office of the Republic of Armenia, it is ready to investigate the facts substantiating the message of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense, in case they are transferred to the Republic of Armenia.
At the moment, the Republic of Azerbaijan has not transferred to the Republic of Armenia any factual data or justification of the violation of the ceasefire regime by the units of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia.
