The Director of Armenia’s National Security Service, Armen Abazyan, has provided details about the February 7 meeting of the interdepartmental commissions addressing the issues of POWs, hostages, and missing persons from Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"A discussion took place, and an agreement was reached to continue these efforts. I also met with the parents to inform them about the results of these meetings and the ongoing work. I do not want to go into detail, as certain aspects remain confidential," Abazyan told journalists during a briefing.
He emphasized that every effort is being made to ensure that the next meeting takes place and that the issues concerning the parents and relatives of the missing and captives receive due attention.
The NSS Director added that he could not provide specific timelines for the transfer of remains and the return of captives but stressed that the Armenian side continues to work toward these goals.
"I don’t want to rush or influence expectations, but you can be sure that the Armenian side will do everything possible to achieve success in this regard," Abazyan concluded.
