The German Foreign Office has reflected on the agreement reached on a peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
“The news that Armenia and Azerbaijan have agreed on a peace agreement is cause for hope. After decades of hostility and war, the fact that lasting peace is now within reach is important for the region and beyond,” the German Foreign Office wrote on
X.
“After long negotiations, Armenia's courageous concessions make this final step on the path possible - a path we have accompanied both countries on. I call on both sides to now sign the peace agreement,” it added.
