Anti-government protests continue in Georgia. On March 7, rallies were held in Tbilisi and other cities in Georgia to mark the 100th day of protests in the country. The slogan of the action was “Until the End.”
In Tbilisi, protesters marched from Republic Square, Public Television and Tbilisi State University to the Georgian Parliament, blocking Rustaveli Avenue. Simultaneous protests were held in Zugdidi, Batumi, Kutaisi and Telavi.
The protesters are demanding early parliamentary elections and the release of about 50 of their supporters, against whom criminal cases have been opened.
Large-scale protests in Georgia began on November 28, 2024, after the decision of the Georgian Dream to freeze negotiations on EU membership.
