From March 1, 2025, the border control of all individuals entering and leaving the Republic of Armenia will be carried out exclusively by the Republic of Armenia Border Guard Troops, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan stated on social media.
“Since February 28, the border service at the Margara border crossing point on the Armenian-Turkish border has been conducted solely by the Armenian Border Guard Troops. The transfer of the Margara border crossing point's control to the Armenian Border Guard Troops means that, from March 1, 2025, border control at all entry and exit points of Armenia will be exclusively carried by the Armenian Border Guard Troops, as only the Armenian Border Guard Troops carry out service at all such points both operational and non-operational,” Pashinyan wrote.
He added that the Margara crossing point is not operational due to the closure of the Armenia-Turkey state border.
"In the summer of 2022, the crossing point was fully renovated by the decision of the Armenian Government, and permanent service was established there by the Russian Border Guard Troops.
I express my gratitude to the Border Guard Troops of the Federal Security Service of Russia for their service on this section of the Armenia-Turkey state border," Pashinyan stated.
