Security was high in Munich as the Munich Security Conference started on Friday (February 14) with some 5,000 officers deployed around the Bavarian capital, according to police, Reuters reports.
The top-level security conference will be attended among others by U.S. Vice President JD Vance and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
Hours before Vance landed in Munich on Thursday (February 13), at least 28 people were injured, several of them seriously when a car drove into a crowded demonstration near the conference venue, with Bavarian state premier Markus Soeder saying the incident was likely an attack.
