The Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on Foreign Relations, the Head of the Armenian delegation to OSCE PA Sargis Khandanyan took part in the work of the OSCE PA Bureau in the capital of Ukraine on February 12-13.
During the Bureau meeting, the humanitarian issues faced in recent years as a result of the war in Ukraine, as well as issues regarding the fate of missing persons, prisoners of war, and other detained persons, were discussed. The Human Rights Defender of Ukraine made a report.
In the delegation led by the OSCE PA President Sargis Khandanyan also had meetings with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, the First Deputy Chairperson Oleksandr Korniyenko, the members of the Ukrainian delegation to OSCE PA. During the meetings, it was discussed what role the Parliamentary Assembly can play in the conflict regulation and peace negotiations.
During the visits the delegation also with the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mariana Betsa, who presented the official positions of Ukraine on ending the war and possible peace negotiations.
The members of the OSCE PA Bureau also visited Moschun (Bucha) to learn about the consequences of war and pay tribute to the memory of the victims.
