Armenia's Parliament voted 63 to 7 to approve in the first reading a draft law to launch the country’s accession process to the European Union.
The opposition “I Have Honor” faction earlier declared it would vote against the draft, while the “Armenia” faction skipped the voting.
The National Assembly held debates on the bill on Monday, February 11.
The bill was initiated by the Eurovote initiative, which collected 60 000 signatures to start the process. The bill was previously endorsed by the Cabinet during its sitting on January 9.
