Minister of economy Gevorg Papoyan on Wednesday received Umang Rawat, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Resident Representative for Armenia.
Papoyan underscored Armenia’s cooperation with the IMF, and presented the country’s latest economic developments and the steps being taken, the Ministry of Economy of Armenia reports.
During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of matters of mutual interest. In particular, they touched upon the vision of the export strategy, the fundamentals of the state policy on corporate governance, and the effective management of investments in Armenia.
Separate attention was paid also to the creation of industrial zones and logistics centers in accordance with international standards planned in Armenia.
In addition, the parties emphasized the need for exchange of experience and knowledge, which will contribute to the formation of economic policy and the strengthening of the governance system in Armenia.
