There is nothing new to say regarding the peace treaty. Out of 17 articles, 15 have been agreed upon, and Armenia has proposed solutions for both, Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this during a press conference held on January 31.
“One concerns the non-deployment of representatives of third-country forces along the border. We propose this to be applied to the delimited sections of the border.
There is also a problem in the legal sphere, the topic of withdrawing disputes from international instances, which may be acceptable to us under certain circumstances and conditions…
The idea is that we need to make sure that we are not only withdrawing something from international instances, but also abandoning these disputes altogether. Otherwise, a situation may arise where we withdraw one claim and Azerbaijan withdraws its claims, that is, we agreed that we will not take them to international instances, but in the next phase, Azerbaijan will put these claims on the table in bilateral relations, and there may be escalations around this. And in that case, we will have already closed our way to manage the basis of this escalation, to use international platforms. Therefore, if we refuse these disputes altogether, and there are still delicate humanitarian issues, that may be acceptable to us," he said.
