The European Union itself is on the verge of collapse, and they will not think about how to save a state that has nothing to do with it, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said during a weekly briefing, referring to the prospect of Armenia joining the European Union.
She also considered the issue of complying with EU standards, high customs duties, and the inevitable decline in GDP a big problem for Armenia. According to Zakharova, there will be no exceptions for Armenia, and “they will not pay for Armenia.”
“Nobody in the European Union is talking about increasing investments, they have a serious economic crisis,” the Russian Foreign Ministry representative said.
According to her, the EU has directed financial resources to Ukraine and is also trying to place the burden of Ukraine’s restoration on “half-member” countries.
