“During the meeting with the Georgian Foreign Minister, we discussed economic and transit transportation issues. We cannot overlook the enormous potential of the South Caucasus, including Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan”, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan stated during a joint press conference with Georgian Foreign Minister Maka Botchorishvili.
In this context, Mirzoyan recalled Armenia’s "Crossroads of Peace" initiative, which envisions active economic and transport cooperation not only among the three aforementioned countries but also with the participation of others.
"As part of this initiative, we have made proposals regarding the unblocking of transport infrastructure within the framework of our negotiations and normalization process with Azerbaijan. Naturally, we are ready to finalize the normalization process with Azerbaijan through this project and other directions.
Our government’s position remains unchanged: we are committed to and will continue to pursue the peace agenda. This applies to the peace treaty, the unblocking of transport infrastructure, and border delimitation (as you know, there have been achievements and agreements in the border delimitation process as well).
We have the same belief and dedication to the Armenia-Georgia border delimitation process, and we are ready to continue this process", he said.
