Reuters. On Monday, European Union foreign ministers agreed on a roadmap to ease sanctions on Syria.
"While we aim to move fast, the lifting of sanctions can be reversed if wrong steps are taken", Kaja Kallas said.
The European Union will also restart a civilian mission to monitor the border crossing between Gaza and Egypt at Rafah. "Reopening the crossing will allow the transfer of injured individuals out of Gaza for treatment," Kallas said.
Earlier on Monday, the European Union renewed its wide-ranging sanctions on Russia for another six months after Hungary stopped holding up the move in return for assurances about energy security.
"This will continue to deprive (Russian President Vladimir) Putin of revenues to fund his war," said the EU foreign policy chief.
