A fire erupted in the construction of a hotel in the southern Antalya province's Alanya district, Turkey, on Jan. 27.
The fire erupted in the construction of a 12-storey hotel while the workers were at the site around 4.30 p.m. local time.
Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik said the firefighters rescued four workers trapped inside according to reporting from Demirören News Agency.
“The fire started due to the welding flames. Although the workers tried to extinguish it, they failed. Our firefighters rescued the last of the last 4 people, there is no danger to life at the moment,” he said.
“The hotel is almost finished, the final work is being done. It was more or less completed. Our municipality has not yet started the licensing process. There is no possibility of a fire in the materials in the outer garden, if we extinguish the fire inside, the fire will not spread. The fire is on the 3rd floor,” he further said.
