Moscow has never refused to communicate with Washington, the previous US administration refused to do so, Vladimir Putin said, commenting on Donald Trump's desire to meet with him as soon as possible.
The Kremlin leader noted that he has always had a practical, pragmatic and trusting relationship with President Trump.
"I cannot disagree with the idea that if Trump had been president and his victory had not been stolen from him in 2020, then perhaps the crisis in Ukraine in 2022 would not have happened," Putin said.
The Russian President assured that Moscow is ready for negotiations on the Ukrainian issue.
Putin noted that issues of strategic stability and the economy can be discussed with the Trump administration.
"Therefore, it would be good for us to meet," the Russian President said.
