Ararat Mirzoyan, Foreign Minister of Armenia delivered opening remarks during his visit to Moscow and ahead of talks.
"Colleagues, Sergey Viktorovich and I have already briefly touched upon several issues. We had a one-on-one format discussion and now we can continue the exchange of views with the participation of delegations. I would like to highlight the interest of the Republic of Armenia in continuing an effective political dialogue aimed at discussing issues affecting our bilateral relations and the regional situation in general.
Armenia has always adhered to the principle of an open and constructive dialogue, and we hope that in the future the Russian side will take into account all aspects of what is happening, avoiding one-sided interpretations, which, unfortunately, we have seen recently, in recent days. I hope that our meeting today promotes mutual understanding.
Another important indicator in bilateral relations is cooperation on international platforms. We always try to understand the interests of the Russian Federation, and there is a desire and understanding that the Russian side will take into account the interests of the Republic of Armenia to some extent on international platforms. Cooperation on international platforms is in our traditions, and we aim to continue this tradition", Mirzoyan said during his opening remarks.
