Business and political leaders started gathering at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Monday (January 20) with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump set to be sworn later in the day.
Trump is expected to dominate the meeting in the Swiss mountain sky resort even if he will not be present. He will address the meeting virtually on January 23.
Pranshu Singhal, founder of a climate organisation, said it was a "big question mark" how the world was going to look like from Tuesday (January 21).
Founder of a start-up in the U.S., Vu Van, said it remained to be seen how everything would unfold.
Topics on the Davos agenda span mounting global geopolitical and economic uncertainty, trade tensions, climate goals and how artificial intelligence can help make lives better.
About 3,000 people from more than 130 countries are expected to attend the forum, including 60 heads of state and government from all major regions,as well as the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijan's President Aliyev will participate in the forum from our region.
Leaders of international organizations are also participating in the conference, including UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, IMF chief Kristalina Georgieva, World Health Organization chief Tedros Ghebreyesus, UN Development Program Administrator Achim Steiner and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
