A consultation was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, during which the bill on regulation of the sector of crypto-assets was discussed.
In particular, the main provisions of the bill, advantages, risks in the sector, principles of regulation, types of regulated services were discussed. It was noted that the main goal of the bill is to curb potential risks in the sector without inhibiting innovations. It was reported that the bill was developed taking into account international experience, in particular, of the European Union. According to the authors, the scope of regulation of the bill will include the public offering of crypto-assets, services and trade.
The participants of the consultation emphasized the importance of disclosing the necessary information in the case of the sale of crypto-assets, and “access permission” will be considered mandatory for the provision of services.
Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of regulating the sector and instructed to finalize the bill based on the results of another discussion and submit it for Government's approval. The Prime Minister emphasized that the law will be continuously improved in the future as needed.
