Russia and Iran have agreed on a gas pipeline route through Azerbaijan, with negotiations in the final stage regarding supply pricing, TASS reports.
"We are now in the final stage of negotiations - price approval. The volumes have already been fixed. Price is always a commercial issue, a search for compromise, so working groups have been created on both sides, and specialists are developing an approach to pricing," Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilev said.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the project to build a gas pipeline from Russia to Iran is in progress, with initial deliveries potentially reaching up to 2 billion cubic meters, with prospects of increasing to 55 billion cubic meters. Putin added that Russia and Iran are also discussing cooperation in the oil sector.
