During his visit to Israel, the Danish Foreign Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen delivered a statement along with his Israeli counterpart Gideon Saar on Monday (January 13) stating that Denmark recognised that the United States had security interests in the Arctic and was ready to discuss them with the incoming administration of President-elect Donald Trump, Reuters reports.
"We agree that the Americans have certain concerns about the security situation in the Arctic, which we share and therefore in close cooperation with Greenland, we are ready to continue talks with the incoming U.S. president, in order to ensure legitimate American interests," Lars Lokke Rasmussen told a press conference in Jerusalem.
