Armenia's President Vahagn Khachaturyan received Ambassador Vassilis Maragos, Head of the European Union (EU) Delegation to Armenia. Welcoming the ambassador, the president congratulated him on the occasion of the New Year and conveyed his best wishes.
The ambassador, for his part, noted that the EU is committed to its efforts to establish peace and stability in the region, and to further strengthen relations with Armenia.
During the meeting, Ambassador Maragos recapped to the president the EU delegation's activities and implemented programs during the past year.
The parties discussed also the upcoming programs and the possibilities of further development of cooperation, and underscored the work being carried out toward establishment and strengthening of democratic institutions in Armenia.
In addition, the president emphasized Armenia's readiness to promote multi-layered cooperation with the EU, and expressed hope that new achievements will be recorded in the domains of mutual interest in the new year.
