We have an ongoing and very intensive dialogue with the United States and the EU and are developing our relations. Foreign Minister of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan said this during the 2024 final press conference.
“It is necessary to mention the trilateral meeting held on April 5, as a result of which a very important document was adopted. In addition, this year we had another round of our strategic dialogue with the US, and during this period an agreement was reached to raise our relations to the level of strategic partnership,” the Foreign Minister said.
“We continue to discuss with the EU, and, I hope, in the coming months we will sign a new partnership agenda. This is another comprehensive document. You are aware that an agreement was reached with the EU, and the dialogue on visa liberalization was finally launched.
This was an important progress, a topic that was constantly being discussed, and there was still no tangible progress. This launch took place. Armenia received support from the EU under the peace instrument, which was also an unprecedented phenomenon, and now we continue our discussions with the EU in other areas and on specific topics.
I also consider it important to emphasize that the European Union Mission continues to be deployed on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, which is an important factor especially in the times and rhetorical conditions in which we live and which we are witnessing. It is our conviction that as long as Armenia does not have delimitated borders, or those areas where Armenia does not have delimitated borders with Azerbaijan, and as long as there are such fabricated accusations of Armenia's Armed Forces opening fire or violating the peace, which we also witnessed literally days ago, in these conditions we will continue to need the EU Mission and we consider their presence to be required,” said Mirzoyan.
