Armenia's Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, during the final press conference of 2024, touched upon Armenia's relations with Georgia and Iran.
"Last year, we signed a document with Georgia, by which we officially raised our relations to the level of strategic partnership. However, it is no secret that, in fact, we have always had a strategic partnership with Georgia in all areas," the Minister said.
In addition to the continuous development of bilateral relations with Iran, Mirzoyan emphasized the transport context. "The start of construction work on the 32-km Agarak-Qajaran road section is important here. Iran's position on the territorial integrity of Armenia and the inviolability of its borders, which is regularly voiced by high-ranking Iranian officials, as well as Iran's position on the issue of unblocking the same transport infrastructure, is important for us," said Ararat Mirzoyan.
"I would like to note that since the beginning of this year, or perhaps from the very last day of last year, the checkpoint on the border between Armenia and Iran has been fully controlled by the Armenian Border Guard Service. This is another indicator of the existing relations between the two countries. The high level of mutual trust between the two countries is evident," the Foreign Minister said.
