The new Syrian authorities held talks with representatives of the Kurdistan Workers' Party and demanded that they lay down their arms. This is reported by Hurriyet, citing its own sources.
As the newspaper notes, two meetings took place in total. During them, the Kurdistan Workers' Party tried to achieve the appearance of a division or corps in the official Syrian army. In exchange, the PKK representatives promised to lay down their arms.
"The terrorist organization, which, with the support of the United States, managed to develop the oil fields of Syria, allegedly offered to divide them 50-50," Hurriyet writes.
However, Syria refused. The new authorities of the Middle Eastern country demanded to lay down their arms. And without any additional conditions.
Earlier, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan spoke about the Kurdish militants in Syria. He also demanded that they lay down their weapons. However, he also threatened with destruction.
