Starting today, the Border Guard Troops of the Republic of Armenia are only responsible for border control at the Agarak checkpoint on the Armenia-Iran state border, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced on Facebook on Monday.
"Since Armenia’s independence in 1991, border control at the Agarak checkpoint has been carried out by the Border Guard Troops of the Russian Federation. I would like to express my gratitude to them for their dedicated service. Best wishes to our border guards, who have now taken over this responsibility," Pashinyan has announced.
