Dmitry Peskov, Press Secretary of the Russian President, spoke about Armenia’s participation in the EAEU and the CIS during a press conference, TASS reports.
“Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will participate in the summit of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) via videoconference, he will not arrive in person due to a positive coronavirus test,” Peskov said.
The Kremlin Spokesman also emphasized that Armenia receives numerous dividends from its membership in the CIS. According to him, Armenia’s work in the CIS is mutually beneficial. It benefits both the country and the union.
“Our Armenian partners have suspended their participation in the CSTO, but Armenia is a very important participant in both the EAEU and the CIS. It is bilateral, both the CIS and our Armenian friends are interested in it,” the Kremlin representative explained.
