An Azerbaijani plane crashed in the Kazakh city of Aktau. The AZAL airliner was en route from Baku to Grozny, but due to fog in the Chechen capital, the Azerbaijani plane was redirected to Makhachkala, then to Aktau.
However, the plane crashed near the city. According to preliminary data, several reasons for the plane's crash are being discussed, including a collision with birds and the explosion of the plane's oxygen cylinders.
The crashed plane was carrying 67 passengers and 5 crew members. According to the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General's Office, 32 passengers were rescued.
