In recent days, Ukrainian drones hit a large oil depot in the Orlov region for the second time. Local governor Andrey Klitschkov said Russian forces had shot down 20 drones targeting fuel and energy infrastructure in the region. The previous attack was on December 14.
Andriy Kovalenko, head of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council's counter-disinformation center, said the base is "an important logistical facility that supports groups of Russian troops in the Kursk, Bryansk and Belgorod regions, as well as those conducting combat operations in the Kharkiv region."
According to Governor Klitschkov, the fire was extinguished after several hours and caused no casualties or "significant" damage.
During a video conference with regional leaders, Russian President Vladimir Putin threatened to respond with "greater destruction" to the attacks of Ukrainian drones on residential buildings in the city of Kazan on Saturday.
Tatarstan leader Rustam Minnikhanov's press service reported that Kazan was attacked by eight drones, and there were no casualties.
