Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili has invited the honorary chair and founder of the Georgian Dream party Bidzina Ivanishvili “as he runs everything” to Orbeliani Palace to discuss the new parliamentary elections, Georgian Public Broadcaster reports.
“The date for the new elections should be set before 29 December,” she addressed the protesters on Rustaveli Avenue.
Zourabichvili says she is waiting for the answer.
“I am loyal to the constitution I swore six years ago, which was trampled under their [referring to the ruling team] feet.”
I will be faithful to the Georgian army, its veterans who came here today and the army that protects Georgia and is faithful to the partners who have equipped and strengthened the Georgian army.
I am and will be Supreme Commander-in-Chief.
I am and will remain committed to those who stand here. I am and will be everyone’s President,” she emphasised.
Salome Zourabichvili was unable to make a complete address due to technical issues, including a malfunctioning microphone, and stated that she would release a statement from the Presidential Palace tomorrow.
