In an interview with France 24, the Turkish Foreign Minister referred to the developments in Syria and once again assured that his country did not play any role in the overthrow of Bashar Assad's regime.
Hakan Fidan added that Ankara does not support the presence of foreign troops in Syria, either Russian or American.
At the same time, he expressed his support for the contacts of the US and European delegations with the new Syrian Government.
The Turkish diplomat noted that the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham group that came to power in Syria has effectively cooperated with Turkey for many years, especially in the fight against the Islamic State.
According to Hakan Fidan, Turkey is also making efforts so that Syrian refugees can safely return to their homes.
