Overnight, the Rostov Region in southern Russia came under a massive attack, acting governor Yury Slyusar said.
"Last night, the Rostov Region came under a massive attack from the enemy that used more than 30 unmanned aerial vehicles and three projectiles for that. Air defenses were activated to protect Taganrog, Bataisk, Rostov, Shakhty, Kamensk, Millerovo and Novoshakhtinsk. The bulk of aerial targets has been neutralized," the official wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to him, a man was injured by the falling debris of an unmanned aerial vehicle. He was given medical assistance.
Earlier, Slyusar said that air defenses had downed UAVs over the Rostov Region. The drone attack caused a fire at the Novoshakhtinsk oil refinery.
By 6:45 a.m. Moscow time (3:45 a.m. GMT), the fire was stamped out, he reported via Telegram messenger.
